Amy has been interested in art since kindergarten. Consequently, she spent most of her youth in the art room at school. By the time she arrived at university, her parents thought she should focus on more practical studies, so Amy majored in Art History with Economics and Fine Art as minors. She ended up loving all three and she graduated with honors.
After Amy became pregnant with her fourth child in six years time, she realized that if she were ever going to be the artist she had dreamed of being since childhood, she needed to start, immediately. So, Amy started painting - and she hasn't stopped.
Fun Factoids About Amy:

[Amy painting at her home studio]
In addition to painting plein aire, Amy works in two indoor studios.
Amy has always painted subjects most familiar to her, which are the outdoors around her home. Her painting features elements of light, place, and time. The inspiration she derives from nature compelled her to create her newest series entitled, 'Elements', which captures the 'dancing' of sea kelp in the waves, and the geometry found in the grouping of rocks and trees. Amy paints in oil, fresco, raw pigments, and mixed media. She is constantly experimenting.
Amy has been exhibiting her work at the Saw Dust Festival in Laguna Beach for 10 years. Her artwork is featured in multiple additional shows each year.
